Why is the x-factor still being shown on tv?
Reality TV is being mass produced because many of the viewing audience enjoy being participants and being involved in the show they also like the narrative aspect many reality tv shows encompass. But it doesn't just stop there, the audience enjoys participating by commenting on the participants performance on the net or calling and voting for them, because it makes them feel involved. The production companies like creating reality TV because it can be cheaply produced and the format can be recycled. Personally i hate these reality TV shows now, X Factor, BGT, Made in Chelsea, The Only Way Is Essex. They're all shoddy imitations of one another and they're all fake and staged plus i hate the fact the TV is flooded with them. I want a return of good, quality TV that might educate the people who enjoy reality TV. I mean you'd have to seriously lack taste if you enjoy watching 'Made in Chelsea' or 'The Hills'. Actually, you'd probably have to lack a brain if you can't see how staged they are, but then again the audience may like the feeling of narrative involvement they get from them.
